ADVISORY COMMITTEE

     The Northwest Research Center has had a very active Advisory Committee since the center started in 1982. The committee consists of one or two people per county from each of the 11 counties surrounding the center who volunteer their time. Committee members are appointed for a three year term starting on Jul 1 and can serve a maximum of two terms (six years). Terms are staggered so that approximately one third come up for renewal or replacement each year. New members are recommended by the retiring member or Extension professionals.

     The committee has been very active in planning and helping at field days, recommending research projects and helping improve the effectiveness of the center. Speakers and topics for Field Days are recommended by the committee months before the event. Committee members have helped with publicity, registration, serve food, drove tractors, been group leaders and in general done whatever was needed during field days. Without their help, none of the field days could have been done.
