CPSC 241: Introduction to Applied Statistics

Course Description By the end of the course students will be able to: Conduct basic statistical tests including hypothesis testing of one and two-sample test of percentages kn binomial experiments, hypothesis testing with large and small samples, confidence intervals, Chi-square, correlation and prediction and elementary analysis of variance.

Credit is not given for both CPSC 241 and STAT 100 or ACE 261.

Grading Grades will be based on:

Two midterm exams (25% each)
Final exam (25%)
Lab quizzes & homework 25%)

Grades will be demarcated on a 90 (A), 80 (B), 70 (C), 60 (D), < 60 (F) scale.
